Parents should note that Moreton Day Nursery School requires a minimum of two full calendar months notice in writing of their intention to withdraw their child, or two full calendar months fees are required in lieu of notice.

OPENING HOURS

We are open between the hours of 8.00am and 6.00pm, Monday to Friday. The nursery can only accept children in from 8.00am. The nursery cannot be held responsible for children before opening times. Parents should bring and collect children promptly as per the arranged times. Parents who wish to drop their children after 10.00am or pick them up before 4.00pm must ensure to inform the staff.

All full-time/full day children must leave the nursery by 6.00pm at the latest. Each time a parent is late in collecting their child, a late collection fee is charged at £1.00/min and is payable on arrival. This also applies to part-time children. We close all Bank Holidays and between Christmas and New Year (to be advised each year). The Moreton day Nursery School reserves the right to change its Terms and Conditions as and when it may require.

CHANGES OF PERSONAL DETAILS

Parents are required to inform the nursery of any change of address or telephone numbers, either at work, at home or mobile. Any changes to your child's dietary requirements must be put in writing.

ATTENDANCE

If your child is unable to attend, please notify the nursery by 10.00am. Otherwise, children will be expected to attend regularly. Please inform nursery staff of any dental or doctor appointments. Children will not be allowed in, between the hours of 12 noon and 2.00pm due to sleep time.

The staff reserve the right, at any time, to refuse admission and/or to send home any child if it considers such action be necessary in the best interests of the nursery and the other children. This may also include no payment of the fees on the due date.

BEHAVIOUR & DISCIPLINE

Children at Moreton Day Nursery School are encouraged to be well mannered, courteous, polite and respect each other, and children are made aware of what is acceptable behaviour and that which is not. We do not believe in smacking, bite back or humiliating children as we believe that aggression breeds aggression and children witnessing such behaviour will think that this is an acceptable way to interact with others. For further information, please ask to see our Management of Behaviour Policy.

CLOTHING & OTHER ITEMS REQUIRED

Children must come to the nursery with comfortable and practical clothing. Indoor shoes must be provided, to be worn in the nursery. A nursery smock must be purchased (from our office) and worn during activities and meal times.

Older children should be dressed in clothes they can manage themselves. Sensible footwear is recommended. The cloakroom has a peg for each child where spare clothes must be stored. A named tray is provided for their work in the entrance hall.

Parents must ensure that milk (powder/fresh), nappies, wipes and cream are sufficiently stocked at the nursery at all times. Potty training is provided if parents require, with training pants supplied by parents until the child is fully dry. We encourage dental hygiene and ask each child to bring in a toothbrush and paste.

The Moreton Day Nursery School does not accept responsibility for loss of, or damage to property or clothing howsoever caused. Children must not bring money or expensive toys to the nursery.

ACCIDENT AND EMERGENCIES

The nursery reserves the right to act 'in loco parentis' for the child and, in the case of illness, accident or emergency will take all such action as the nursery deems fit whether or not the parents or next of kin have been informed. If the child requires hospital attention, he/she will be accompanied by the member of staff who witnessed the incident to the minor treatment centre at 82 Vincent Square or the nearby St. Thomas or Chelsea & Westminster hospital (parent/s may state their preference on enrolling your child with the nursery). The nursery officer in-charge at the time will undertake all reasonable steps to inform the parents in the case of any emergency.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Inspections by the authorities

We are registered and inspected by OFSTED. Latest reports are displayed on parents' notice board in our premises or from the OFSTED website. We are regularly visited by the fire department and also environment health. Fire drills are practiced on a monthly basis.

Money and Toys

Children are not allowed to bring money or toys to school, they may not always like to share their toys and occasionally they may get broken. This is likely to distress your child. Stud earrings are allowed at the Nursery. No other jewellery is allowed.

Collecting your child

On no account will any child be allowed to leave the premises alone and the person collecting their child must be known to one of the nursery staff and over 16 years of age. For the safety of the children parents are requested not to send anyone unknown to the staff to collect their child.

ILLNESSES & MEDICATION

Parents have a duty to notify the nursery if they suspect their child has been in contact with any infectious illnesses. E.g. any form of sore eyes, skin rashes, and must be checked by a doctor. Parents are also required to inform the staff whether their child is suffering from any allergy, disability or infection.

We are not authorised to administer medication. Children requiring antibiotics and medication such as Calpol should be kept at home until the course of medication is finished. Exceptions may, however, be made in the case of asthma and epilepsy by arrangement, and a Medication Consent Form must be signed by parent and staff.
